Obelisk Replica

Replica of a 23 metre granite obelisk which stood in the ancient city of Axum, Ethiopia for over 1700 years. The obelisk was seized, cut into segments and transported to Rome by Italian forces during their invasion of Ethiopia in 1937. Models such as this one are often kept in the homes of Ethiopian families. The giant obelisk was returned to Axum in April of 2005.
 

Framed Portrait of Geneva Gross

This framed portrait of Geneva Gross was passed down to Kathleen Shreve as part of the family estate. Upon removal from it’s place on the wall the notation on the back was discovered which reads as follows:

Geneva Gross whoe’s Mother swam the Detroit river with this child on her back to Canada to be free. And settled in the Chatham area
